Happy Memorial Day!

This weekend we put our differences aside and take time to honor those who have served and sacrificed in the name of freedom. Thank you to all of our veterans, past and present, who have fought with bravery, integrity, and love. Their selfless sacrifice allows us to live here at home in peace, and to them I am grateful.

I would also like to specifically thank all of the military heroes in my family- my Dad, my Uncle, both of my Papaws, and my Mom’s Mom. I am in awe of their service, and so blessed to be in a family with such honorable people.

And of course, to all of the military men and women (and their families) who are currently serving, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I support you.

I hope you all have a blessed and happy Memorial Day, but while you celebrate and are off of work and school, take time to remember why and who you are celebrating.

God bless all of those in our armed forces, and don’t forget, freedom is not free.

My Real-Life Superhero

Sure, “The Avengers” are pretty cool in their spandex and iron suits, but I know a real-life superhero that tops them all. Her beauty is extraordinary and her love is unmatched here on earth. She is caring, and a fantastic cook. Her smile can light up a room. She seems perfect, right? Well, this beautiful, loving, caring, perfect woman of God is my amazing mom.

Who can find a virtuous woman? She is far more precious than jewels…
Strength and honor are her clothing, and she can laugh at the time to come.
She opens her mouth with wisdom, and loving instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the activities of her household and is never idle.
Her sons rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her:
Many women are capable, but you surpass them all! Charm is deceptive and beauty  is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised.
~Proverbs 31:10, 25-30

On this beautiful Mother’s Day make sure you stop and take time to let your mom know that she is appreciated and loved. Believe me, she deserves that and so much more.

Make a Resolution that will Last!

Every time a New Year comes, excitement fills the air. People are ready for a new beginning in the race of life, and they can’t wait to start.

Fitness Centers are suddenly with people who are going to “make a change”, and priorities are suddenly put in order. But after a matter of weeks, sometimes even days, we resort back to our old habits. Our resolutions are thrown overboard, and they won’t find their way back until the next year.

The reason we never keep our New Year’s promises is that we are trusting in ourselves to change. But the only way to experience a genuine change, one that will last, we have to trust, not in ourselves, but in our Almighty God.

Let’s make this year different from the rest. This year, let’s stray away from our empty promises, and let’s put our Faith in Jesus Christ! Make an honest resolution, one that will last more than a lifetime!

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

Dear Jesus,

I have no idea where to begin. Your life, the little that the Bible exposes, was incredible. From Your miraculous conception, to Your sacrifice, and Your Resurrection, Your gift is truly indescribable.

As we get close to Your birthday celebration this year, I hope more and more people turn to You, and realize that believing in You is not a burden, but that it is a blessing that brings so much joy and peace.

I also hope that all of us who do believe will strengthen our relationship with You. Due to our sinful nature it is so easy for us to stray from Your side, and to forget you are always there. But this Christmas, I pray we will all draw near and find comfort in Your presence.

Thank you so much for always being there for me and for Your perfect life, unfailing love, and selfless sacrifice.

Happy Birthday, Jesus, I love you!

PS: Please keep an eye on all of our Soldiers away from home. We miss them very much.

An Unworthy Sinner

Dear Reader,

I pray your Christmas celebration is filled with joy and blessings, but most importantly I hope it is filled with the hope of Jesus Christ.

Here are a few of my favorite verses and songs to get you in the Christmas spirit:

Luke 2:10-11 “And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.’”

Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
